So, late last year I had the pleasure of filming a short film called, Wonder! I just learned that the film has now got into its first film festival. The film is now apart of the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival which is a huge deal because the festival is also an Oscars Qualifier! The producers of the film are still waiting to hear back from a few other festivals in which it was submitted.
What is the film about you may ask? Well, first I should mention that this short film is intended to be a TV short which the producers hope to turn into a series. It is a wonderful coming of age story that revolves around young people of color and the LGBTQ+ community. In the film I play a small but pivotal role of the drag queen! I can’t really give out too many other details about the film but just know that I can’t wait for people to see this! If you happen to be in the Martha’s Vineyard area this summer, the festival is from August 5-10th! And to learn more about Wonder and some of the other film project that the producers of Real Talk Film is working on, check out their website at the link HERE.
